Self Help Center is a consumer operated services program providing peer recovery support services to adults diagnosed with mental illness, those experiencing symptoms of mental illness, and those with co-occurring disorders (mental illness and addictions). All services are provided free of charge; however, membership (also free) is required.
Member Steve Barks will be joining the Walk to Washington to raise depression awareness. Steve will be joining Walk for Depression Director Steve Curran and four others on a 50 day, 835 mile trek from St. Louis, Missouri to Washington DC. Steve and others will be departing St. Louis on Saturday, August 14th at the end of the St. Louis Walk for Depression and will arrive in Washington DC on Thursday, October 7th. Save the date!!!! Friday, July 30th is the date for the kick-off rally for the Walk to Washington. The family-friendly event will include carnival games, face painting, a live broadcast by Y98, a live concert (announcement forthcoming), a raffle, and guest speakers. All food sales at the event will support member Steve Barks and the Walk to Washington. More information coming soon.
Self Help Center is hosting a raffle in support of the Walk to Washington. Tickets are $10 each and will support the Walk to Washington DC. A limited number of tickets are available. Prizes are as follows:
Grand Prize: Roundtrip airfair (coach) between St. Louis and Washington DC incluing hotel and ground transportation
